2009 Pontiac G8 GXP is powered by 6.2L LS3 small-block V-8. The small-block punches out 402 horses and 400 lb-ft of torque rearward via a Tremec 6-speed manual gearbox or a HydraMatic 6L80 auto, and it’s the same MM6 version used in the base-model and Z06 Corvettes, which means it has the customary (but annoying) fuel-saving skip-shift feature. This engine is the newest member of GM’s small-block V-8 family.
The Pontiac GXP comes with either a manual or an automatic transmission. The Pontiac GXP’s looks aren’t too over-the-top; it has the customary lowered stance, extra body cladding and interior touches. The big news is that you can finally get the wheels that were on the original G8 GT concept car.
The only option beside the choice of automatic or manual and all-season or summer tires is a sunroof. Exterior changes are subtle and include revised front and rear fascias. Nineteen-inch polished and machined aluminum wheels are tucked neatly under the Pontiac GXP’s flared fenders.
The Pontiac GXP also features Brembo 14.0-inch-front and 12.8-inch-rear brake rotors squeezed by four-piston-front and single-piston-rear calipers. Outside, the G8 is modified slightly for GXP duties with more aggressive front and rear fascias and big 19-inch wheels, which are also found on the G8 GT.

2009 Pontiac G8 GXP’s interior upgrades consist of two-tone, power-adjustable sport seats with “GXP” embroidery, a leather-trimmed steering wheel, sport pedals with aluminum covers and a 230-watt Blaupunkt audio system.
The Pontiac GXP has five seats with aesthetic and tactile interior details like instruments with a sporty appearance that match the car’s performance. The interior consist of satin and chrome trim materials with high-quality textured materials throughout. The instrument cluster glows with crisp, white light on the primary instruments.
