2007 Pontiac Grand Prix is available in three models : base, GT and GXP. The base Grand Prix has a 3.8-liter 200-hp V6 engine. GTs have a 260-hp supercharged V6 engine. GXPs use a 5.3-liter 303-hp V8 with GM’s Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation. All engines team with a 4-speed automatic transmission. GXP has Pontiac’s TAPshift steering wheel paddles for manual operation. All models come with OnStar assistance and 4-wheel disc brakes.

The 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP’s engine includes Active Fuel Management Technology, which enables it to sip up to 12 percent less fuel by deactivating half of the engine’s cylinders when they’re not needed, such as at cruising speeds. The GXP also has a firm-riding sport-tuned suspension, with StabiliTrak stability control included.

GXP-specific body enhancements complement the car’s aggressive stance, with front and rear fascias along with rocker extensions accentuating the low look. Prominent exhaust outlets in the rear fascia combine with GXP badges to foretell the car’s performance capability.

The 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix come with few changes. The Grand Prix adds a standard tire-pressure-monitoring system, available 17-inch chrome-tech aluminum wheels and five new exterior colors: Crimson Red, Midnight Blue Metallic, Shadow Gray Metallic, Purple Haze Metallic, Red Jewel Tintcoat.

2007 Pontiac Grand Prix‘s exterior dimensions are 198.3 inches length, 73.8 inches width, 55.9 inches height, 110.5 inches wheelbase, 61.7 inches front track, 61.3 inches rear track, and 37.4 feet curb to curb turning circle.

Each 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix model is spacious enough for five adults. The deep trunk holds 16 cubic feet of cargo, and there’s a pass-thru in the 60/40-split, folding backseat. Sizable analog gauges have a 3-D look, and the doors display satin-nickel accents. The GXP’s standard head-up display allows the driver to extinguish all instrument panel lighting for enhanced visibility during night driving.

All models are offered with a Sun and Sound Package that includes a power sunroof and a Monsoon audio system with in-dash six-disc CD changer. A navigation system paired with the upgraded Monsoon sound system costs $2540 for the 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix base and GT models $2145 for GXP.

Plastic interior parts detract from the luxury styling.  Rear legroom is still cramped, and headroom is compromised when you get the sunroof.  Gas mileage is not as good as reported, and a manual transmission is keenly desired.

2007 Pontiac Grand Prix’s interior dimensions are 38.5 inches front headroom, 36.5 inches rear headroom, 54.6 inches front hip room, 53.5 inches rear hip room, 42.4 inches front leg room, 36.5 inches rear leg room, 57.9 inches front shoulder room, 55.5 inches rear shoulder room, and 114 cu ft interior volume.
