1984 Pontiac Fiero

1984 Pontiac Fiero
1984 Pontiac Fiero was the first production of the Pontiac Fiero. This year was the only year in which the Limited “Indy Pace Car” edition, consisting of an Indianapolis 500-themed option package on SE-model vehicles, was offered. The Indy had aero body cladding and new front and rear fascias that would be used on the 1985 GT. Only the underpowered 4-cylinder engine was available.
1984 Pontiac Fiero base model 2M4 was a 2.5 liter in-line 4 cylinder that produced 98Hp and 135FtLb of torque. The 2M6, Formula, SE, and the GT all shared the same engine a 2.8 liter V-6 which produced 135Hp and 160FtLb of torque. It was mated to a 4 speed manual or 3 speed automatic.
When the 1984 Pontiac Fiero 2M4 was introduced in this year, it was a beautifully styled little car. It stood a svelte 1,191 mm (46.9 in.) tall, and its lines started at a pert nose and swept back over the sharply raked windshield. The angle of the rear window was matched by the slope of the tail, and it was faithful to Pontiac’s styling theme.
The 1984 Pontiac Fiero’s exterior dimensions are 4194 mm length, 1750 mm width, 1191 mm height, 2372 mm wheelbase, 1468 mm front track, 1491 mm rear track, and 1243 kg / 2740 lbs weight.
Much of the 1984 Pontiac Fiero’ suspension, powertrain, and drivetrain were shared with other GM production vehicles, such as the Citation and Chevette. The chassis was a space-frame setup with Chevrolet Chevette steering, suspension and brakes. The 1984 Pontiac Fiero’s body was created from Enduraflex plastic body panels with only four paint colors offered at any one time.
1984 Pontiac Firebird

1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
In 1984, Pontiac recognized the Trans Am’s 15th Anniversary by releasing a special Trans Am that was white with blue stripes, blue Trans Am decals and a blue “Venetian blind” decal on the offset hood bulge.
The 1984 Pontiac Firebird had a multi-tone gray interior that had Recaro seats, a white leather wrapped steering wheel , shifter knob and parking brake handle. The 1984 Pontiac Firebird were powered by the 190 hp 5.0 liter “corporate” V-8 and a 5 speed manual transmission.
The 1500 15th Anniversary Trans Ams also included upgraded WS6 suspension with new 25mm rear sway bar vs the normal WS6′s 23mm bar. The other features on the 1984 Pontiac Firebird included shifter, white striped taillights, white wheels, special blue stripes and blue hood decal, 4 wheel disc brakes, and ttops. The 1984 Pontiac Firebird that were available V8 engines were the LG4 and L69.
A new aero option package, including rear wing, could give Trans Ams the look of the Recaro special-edition. A few such doodads made sense for owners who wanted to accentuate their Firebird’s sleek lines. Pontiac claimed that a 1984 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with H.O. engine could hit 60 in seven seconds, but test figures ran closer to eight.
