2005 Pontiac Vibe

2005 Pontiac Vibe is available in base, GT, and AWD models. The base came with 130-horsepower, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine. The AWD base model has 123 hp and automatic transmission only. The base with a standard 5-speed manual or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission, and the AWD is automatic-only. The GT model holds a 170-hp, 1.8-liter 4-cylinder that teams with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The 2005 Pontiac Vibe AWD model adds 200 pounds to the Vibe’s curb weight while simultaneously making about five-percent less horsepower and torque. Plus, there’s no manual transmission to make the most of the power; the Vibe AWD is automatic-only. Premium fuel is recommended for the GT. For extra performance, an accessory supercharger is available for the base model.

AWD Vibes are not intended for off-roading and lack low-range gearing. AWD and GT Vibes come with ABS and, for 2005, gain a standard tire-pressure monitor; that combination is optional on the base 2WD model.

2005 Pontiac Vibe’s exterior dimensions are 171.9 inches length, 69.9 inches width, 62.2 inches height, 102.4 inches wheelbase, 59.6 inches front track, 58.9 inches rear track, and 36.7 feet curb to curb turning circle.

2005 Pontiac Vibe receives restyled front and rear fascias, standard passive suppression front passenger airbag system, tire pressure monitor standard on GT and AWD, new interior fabric, available StabiliTrak stability enhancement system, available side-curtain airbag system with side thorax airbags, Moon and Tunes package, and available leather seating.

2005 Pontiac Vibe seats five. The seats are elevated for a good view of the road and the driver gets a manual seat-height adjustment. The driver operates in a cockpit-style environment. Secondary controls are easy to reach and use. Audio controls are located at the top of the center stack. Three big dials are used to control the heating/air-conditioning system.

Base models are available with an antiskid system. 2005 Pontiac Vibe has a swing-up tailgate with separate-opening window. They come with 16-inch wheels; 17s are optional with front-drive. Among dealer-installed accessories is a supercharger for front-drive base models that boosts horsepower to 175. Vibe’s performance and accommodations mirror those of comparably equipped Matrix models.

All 2005 Pontiac Vibe models come with fog lights, power mirrors, roof rack, 16-inch wheels, variable intermittent wipers front and back, air conditioning, floor mats, tilt wheel, cloth seats, rear 60/40 folding seat, and CD player. Both the FWD and AWD models come with disc/drum brakes; ABS is optional on FWD and standard on AWD.

2005 Pontiac Vibe’s interior dimensions are 40.6 inches front headroom, 39.8 inches rear headroom, 51.7 inches front hip room, 47.8 inches rear hip room, 41.8 inches front leg room, 36.3 inches rear leg room, 53.2 inches front shoulder room, 52.6 inches rear shoulder room, and 111.5 cu ft interior volume.
