The 1993 Pontiac Grand Am‘s front-drive 2- or 4-door compact got new styling, and shared its platform with the Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile Achieva, and Chevrolet Corsica/Beretta. Pontiac once again provided 2 trim levels–SE and GT–both with 4-cylinder engines.

There are a few changes for the 1993 Pontiac Grand Am. To reduce engine noise in the Quad 4, 1993 Pontiac Grand Am’s horsepower was downgraded by 5. This means the SE’s 2.3-liter I4 now got 115-hp and the GT’s high output DOHC version got 175-hp. The optional 3.3-liter, 160-hp V6 remained unchanged. 4-cylinders came with either a 5-speed manual or 3-speed automatic transmission. All V6s got a 3-speed automatic.

The 1993 Pontiac Grand Am model has a lot similar optional features like the previous model. It comes with the option of air conditioning system, cruise/speed control and everything else that is optional in the 92 only the radio can come alone or you can still have it with the cassette or the CD.

In case of its specifications, the only changes it has was the increased curb weight of 2,862 lbs as compared to the 92′s 2,777 lbs. It still comes with the standard ABS brakes. The 1993 Pontiac Grand Am‘s external dimensions are 4,760 mm length, 1,740 mm width, 1,360 mm height, and 2,630 wheelbase.

1993 Pontiac Bonneville offers three trim levels: SE, SSE, and SSEi. The base and midlevel models were provided with GM’s basic 3.8-liter V6 that made 170 hp and 220 lb-ft of torque, while the SSEi received the hotter supercharged version. Those figures grew to 205 hp and 230 lb-ft in 1995. The available supercharged version initially made 205 hp and 260 lb-ft, and those figures swelled to 225 hp and 275 lb-ft in 1994. The supercharged V6 was boosted one more time in 1996 to 240 horses and 280 lb-ft of torque.

The 3.8 is not only lively but also carries a 19-mile-per-gallon city/28- m.p.g. highway fuel economy rating. Very good for a 5-passenger family machine. Unless you climb lots of steep hills or pass lots of long convoys, the 3.8 does just finewithout the supercharge boost.

All 1993 Pontiac Bonneville’s engines came paired with a 4-speed overdrive automatic transmission. SSEi models got dual airbags and antilock brakes. SE and SSE models made due with a driver-side airbag and optional antilock brakes.

The 1993 Pontiac Bonneville offers the Sport Luxury Edition (SLE RPO: H4U). This is basically an SE sub-trim with more standard options such as leather seats, electronic climate control and premium sound. Many more standard options were available with the SSE. The SSEi came standard with most of the available options in the lower models, including the Supercharged 3800 (RPO: L67).

The 1993 Pontiac Bonneville was nothing if not dependable, and it seems to last forever, say happy owners. The riding experience is all about comfort, especially on long rides, making it a practical family car.
