2007 Pontiac G6 GTP Convertible
The 2007 Pontiac G6 Convertible is powered a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, which produces 201 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque with a 3.9-liter V-6 with variable valve timing optional, which produces 227 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque. Both are mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift feature.
For this Pontiac convertible, the hot-rod GTP model goes away, replaced by a “sport package” on the GT. The premise of the Pontiac convertible is that it’s one of the first (if not the first) affordably-priced convertibles with a retractable steel roof in place of the more common fabric roof.
The Pontiac convertible, which is some 300 lb. heavier than the G6 Coupe, feels solid, structurally more sound than the Chrysler sebring and toyota solara convertibles. There is still a hint of cowl shake detectable through the rim of the steering wheel, which tilts and telescopes to help drivers of varying sizes find a comfortable driving position.
In the Pontiac convertible, the door glass automatically indexes (up and down) about 0.25 when the doors of the vehicle are opened and closed, which commonly found on upscale European cars. Additionally, a specially insulated headliner further quiets the raised top. It provides both acoustic and thermal protection. The Pontiac convertible is subjected to a stringent water test at the assembly plant.

With your choice between 3 body styles, 4 engines and 2 transmissions, the 2008 Pontiac G6 Convertible offers something for everyone. With 4-wheel ABS and all-speed traction control, these vehicles are well equipped to prevent an accident. The Pontiac convertible has four seats and 4-speed automatic transmission, electronically controlled with overdrive (Includes Driver Shift Control).
Should an accident occur, all models of the Pontiac convertible feature front, driver and passenger airbag system that enhances occupant safety. The sedan and coupe feature additional seat-mounted side-impact and overhead curtain airbags.
At 70 mph, the Pontiac convertible’s interior sound level is slightly quieter than similar cars with retractable hardtops. Gaining access to the rear seat, however, can be a problem.
The more upgradeable base the Pontiac convertible adds 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control and remote keyless entry. The midlevel GT comes with V6 power, a sport-tuned suspension, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and an eight-speaker Monsoon sound system with a subwoofer and satellite radio.
