The 2008 Pontiac Solstice is powered by a 173-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine. It comes standard with 5-speed manual transmission, an automatic is optional. 2008 Pontiac Solstice comes standard with hand-cranked windows, manually changed outside mirrors and manual door locks ; though the driving seat features a power height adjustment.
The Convenience Package adds cruise control, an augmented Driver Information Center, and fog lamps. The Preferred Package includes power windows, door locks and body-colored power outside mirrors, together with remote keyless entry.
The 2008 Pontiac Solstice GXP gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generating 260 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque matched to a five-speed manual transmission. The GXP comes with extra standard security features, including ABS, GM’s StabiliTrak skid-management system and a limited-slip differential.
The GXP also gets power windows and mirrors, cruise control, audio controls on a leather-wrapped wheel, remote keyless entry, fog lamps and polished aluminum wheels. Tires are the same size as the base model’s, but are Goodyear Eagle F1 high-performance units.

The 2008 Pontiac Solstice seats two. The wraparound instrument panel bears very recessed round gauges with red numerals. The driver’s seat includes powered height adjustment, and the wheel leans but doesn’t telescope. GXP detailing includes aluminum sill plates, embroidered floor mats and a leather steering wheel.
Leather upholstery is optional on either model. The 2008 Pontiac Solstice incorporates a CD stereo with a CD stereo with XM Satellite Radio. Steering-wheel stereo controls, cruise control, fog lamps and power mirrors, windows and locks with remote keyless entry are all standard on the GXP and optional on the base Solstice.
A 5-speed automated transmission and air conditioning are optional on both models. Leather upholstery is available for the Solstice base model and GXP and comes as part of the Premium Package, which upgrades the base model with a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls.
Audio upgrades include a high-watt Monsoon system with subwoofer. There’s also an in-dash six-CD changer, which keeps MP3 capability and a separate input jack. Also available are metallic pedals, a rear spoiler, and carpeted floor mats. The 2008 Pontiac Solstice base model can be ordered with polished aluminium or chrome wheels.
