2006 Pontiac Grand Prix comes in three models. Base models have a 200-hp V6. GTs have a 260-hp supercharged V6. GXPs use a 303-hp V8 with GM’s Active Fuel Management, which deactivates 4-cylinders while cruising to save fuel. All engines team with a 4-speed automatic transmission. All models come with OnStar assistance and 4-wheel disc brakes.
A high-performance, 4-speed automatic transmission allows aggressive manual gear changes via Formula-One racing style “TAPShift” controls on the steering wheel. Its sport-tuned suspension promises uncompromising handling prowess, with StabilTrak stability control included.
A Special Edition Package is offered in the 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix GT, which basically adds more performance features, such as ground effects, bright exhaust tips, alloy wheels, body-colored grille, and a restyled center console.
