2004 Pontiac Grand Am includes sedans in SE and uplevel SE1 and SE2 trim. Coupes and sedans are available in sportier GT and GT1 guise. ABS and traction control are an option for SE and SE1, but are standard elsewhere.
2004 Pontiac Grand Am is powered by Pontiac’s base Ecotec 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine which rated at 140 horsepower and mates with either a 4-speed-automatic or 5-speed-manual transmission. A 170-hp, 3.4-liter V-6 engine is standard in the SE2 and optional in the SE1. A 175-hp Ram Air V-6 with cold-air induction and a lower-restriction exhaust system goes into the GT and GT1 and teams only with the automatic transmission.
GT styling is marked by a clean, Coke bottle-like profile and a smooth rear deck, and unique front and rear treatments. GT1 models additionally sport a sunroof and steering wheel-mounted audio controls as standard equipment.
