2001 Pontiac Sunfire

2001 Pontiac Sunfire is available in SE sedan, SE and GT coupe. Manual transmission is standard, 3- and 4-speed automatics optional. Traction control included with 4-speed automatic.  ABS, air conditioning standard in the Sunfire. Sunfire’s performance and commodations mirror those of like-equipped Cavaliers.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire SE come with a 115-horsepower 2.2-liter 4-cylinder engine. A dual camshaft 2.4-liter 4-cylinder with 150 hp is standard on the GT coupe and optional on the SEs. Both engines are shared with the Cavalier and are available with a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

The 2001 Pontiac Sunfire loses its convertible body style for this year, while the 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan versions of this front-drive compact return with minor changes. The Sunfire is built from the same design as the Chevrolet Cavalier, which also drops its convertible body style.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire’s exterior dimensions are 4623 mm length, 1737 mm width, 1346 mm height, 2644 mm wheelbase, 1463 mm front track, 1433 mm rear track, and 10851 mm curb to curb turning circle.

Interior

2001 Pontiac Sunfire’s sporty exterior theme is continued inside the cabin. The instrument panel has an attractive appearance, and includes a digital LCD odometer and trip odometer, a tachometer and a coolant temperature gauge. The Sunfire now has a standard rear spoiler on all trims and an AM/FM stereo cassette is now standard on the SE.

A 200-watt Monsoon premium audio system is optional. Using six speakers, the system is tuned specifically for the 2001 Pontiac Sunfire’s acoustical environment and is capable of completely drenching its occupants with sound. Crisp bass response and clear high frequencies make for great sound.

The GT also features foglights, CD player, and a leather-wrapped wheel.  Rear seats in the 2001 Pontiac Sunfire fold down to expand the already spacious 12.4 cubic foot trunk, and a front console holds CDs, cassettes, coins, and drinks.  An upgraded Monsoon sound system is offered as an option.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire’s interior dimensions are 955 mm front headroom, 930 mm rear headroom, 1237 mm front hip room, 1257 mm rear hip room, 1069 mm front leg room, 828 mm rear leg room, 1374 mm front shoulder room, 1392 mm rear shoulder room, and 2469 liters interior volume.
