1967 Pontiac Catalina Convertible
After only one year, the 2+2 reverted back to an option package on the 1967 Pontiac Catalina. A new 428 cid V8 with 360 bhp was the standard engine, while performance fans could select the new Quadra-Power 428 V8 with 376 bhp.
There had been also a slight restyling including disappearing windshield wipers. Notwithstanding these changes, sales were down dramaticly in the 1967 Pontiac Catalina. This would be the year for the 2+2 option on the 1967 Pontiac Catalina, although the 428 V8 would still be available on regular Catalinas.
The option included Deluxe wheel discs and wheel, Decor moldings, bucket seats, the three-speed, dual exhausts, and a professional quality stabilizer bar. A 428 HO engine stayed available, but was not offered with Tri-Power.
The 1967 Pontiac Catalina received a heavy facelift featuring integral bumper-grilles, “wasp waist” body styling, angular wedge-shaped front fender tips, and recessed windshield wipers. A crisp horizontal beltline crease and flare sculpturing between the doors and rear wheel openings were other new design traits.
Interior
The 1967 Pontiac Catalina carried all of the standard GM security features plus wood grain on the dash board and nylon mix carpeting. Tiny hubcaps were still used and there had been “Pontiac” letters on the left-hand grille.
The word “Catalina” was on the sides of the front fenders behind the wheel openings. The taillights were horizontal with a single long lens that curved downwards at every side. Catalinas that were provided with the Ventura trim package or 2+2 option had different trim.
